Job description
To effectively manage depot operations, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources, cost control, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for depot operations to align with overall business objectives.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as cost per unit, on-time delivery, and inventory accuracy, to assess operational effectiveness.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimise efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee budgeting and cost control measures, ensuring targets are met and expenses are controlled.
- Analyse financial data related to depot operations, providing insights and recommendations for cost optimization and profitability enhancement.
- Develop and monitor financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities for budget adjustments.
- Lead and motivate a team of depot operations staff, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations are established.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Support the professional development of team members through coaching, feedback, and training opportunities.
- Promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
- Oversee supply chain operations, including inbound and outbound logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation partners to ensure seamless coordination and optimization of resources.
- Monitor and address supply chain risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
- Establish and enforce quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to optimise operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify opportunities for improvement and address any non-compliance issues.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback, and implementing corrective action plans as needed.
- Maintain effective communication channels with internal stakeholders, such as operations teams, senior management, and support functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on operational objectives, resolve issues, and achieve organisational goals.
- Regularly communicate with customers, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and identifying opportunities for service enhancement.
- Represent the organisation in external meetings, conferences, and industry events, establishing positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- An individual who has been a junior/assistant to regional production or operations manager in the food and beverage sector - 3 - 5 years .
- Has FSSC or similar certification experience
- Has OHS compliance experience.
- Proficient in Food Safety & FSSC Certification
- Have knowledge of Haccp. Taccp & Vaccp & GMP Study
