ROLE SUMMARY:
Inspired is seeking to appoint a College High School Deputy Head (Academics) to join us in January 2024
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting academic targets and evaluating the outcomes on a continuous basis.
- Creating and overseeing the academic timetable ensuring that individual and class timetables are imported and active on iSAMS.
- Compiling termly mark schedules and end-of-year promotion schedules.
- Managing the termly markbooks and compiling and producing the termly reports.
- Calculating and overseeing Year Mark totals for promotion and awards purposes.
- Overseeing the entrance examinations including the management of the setting and marking of entrance examinations.
- Liaising with the IEB on all matters related to the IEB.
- Creating termly work schedules indicating dates for tests, projects, orals etc. per subject per grade.
- Setting termly cycle tests, mid-year and November examination) schedules.
- Monitoring cycle test and examination attendance (in association with the Grade Heads) and dealing with queries and policies surrounding absences.
- Overseeing the cycle test and examination catch up programme.
- Overseeing the examination booklets including the compilation and communication of examination booklets for each grade prior to the mid-year and end-of-year examinations.
- Determining and communicating appropriate deadlines for exam setting; exam marking; entering of termly marks and subject/ class teacher comments.
- Taking charge of all examination venues (in association with tutor teachers).
- Providing administrative support and encouragement of Olympiads and other academic competitions
- A minimum of 5 years management experience leading delivery of the curriculum in an innovative manner.
- Sound interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Track record of good management and leadership skills
- Ability to balance management and teaching roles
- Proficient in Google Suites and relevant school administration platforms
- Confidence with use of ICT in teaching
- Willingness to work after hours
- 4 year B.Ed or Bachelors degree and PGCE
- SACE registered
- Appropriate right to work
