Information Security Engineer Level 2

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Security Engineer Level 2 to be part of our dynamic team.

This role will be based in our Durban or Pretoria office.

Role Overview: Independently manage and implement information security controls, monitor security systems, conduct vulnerability assessments, and assist in incident response efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance the organization's security posture, while continuously expanding your knowledge and expertise in information security practices.

Key Responsibilities

Job Description

• Conduct routine security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify system weaknesses.
• Design and implement security controls for containerized, physical, and cloud environments.
• Administer and maintain security tools and automate processes where applicable.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, coordinate remediation, and monitor alerts.
• Generate security metrics and reports, participate in audits, and use SIEM tools for event analysis.
• Communicate incident response updates and support escalations with stakeholders.
• Document security procedures and risks, while staying updated on emerging security practices.
• Optimize infrastructure for cost-efficiency and participate in cloud cost management initiatives.
• Collaborate on problem-solving, process improvements, and team innovation.
• Demonstrate cybersecurity expertise, teamwork, and a results-driven commercial mindset.
• Enhance the organization's security posture by continuously monitoring, assessing, and addressing vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.

Key Qualifications And Experience

• Relevant Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems
• 2-4 years experience in Information Security in a similar role (Essential)
• MS AZ900, KCNA, CEH, SSCP certifications are preferred
• Technical Skills required:
• Kubernetes experience in non negotiable
• Python
