Our Design Centre Team has a new and exciting opportunity available for a experienced, agile and flexible, and driven Woman wear Designer to join the design team, in conjunction with being a preproduction team in a rapidly growing division. This position is in our pre-production operation design studio that feeds the factory and works closely with the Pattern Maker and Sample Machinist of our Leisure Design Centre division.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to align with the company vision, brand profile and be self-motivated and actively involved in the end-to-end process in the applicable area of responsibility. In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting, and dynamic retail environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Main report structure is to the Head of Design and working on the Poetry Brand to deliver seasonal trends and Cad designs briefs with detail, fabrics, trims and tech packs (Illustrator) in accordance with the strategy for the portfolio.
- Work closely with pattern makers, sample machinist and pre-production to factory team.
- Critical path management
- Compile design requirements and specifications along with Technical Drawings.
- CAD new designs with relevant detail for local manufacturing team.
- Collaborate with Fabric Team to create aligned pieces for the collection.
- Ability to brief patternmakers and see through development of styles with sample team.
- Trends presentation and research for new styling.
- Create Mood boards and Colour palettes.
- Grade 12 / Matric Qualification
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Women Fashion Design is an important pre-requisite.
- Previous Designer experience and ability to design for elevated womenswear Brand.
- Working knowledge and experience with adobe suite (Illustrator) is non-negotiable.
- Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of garment construction/manufacturing.
- Good Fabric and Trim knowledge
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Will be required to travel with in region and therefore a valid drivers license and own vehicle is advantageous.
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions from the Head of Design.
