Vacancy: Desktop Support Technician. Midrand R 35-45Kpm
Our client is a leader in Electrical infrastructure development. This is a full- time position for a candidate with a Degree / Diploma in IT (covering networking, software and hardware) and MCSE.
EXPERIENCE
· 2-3 years’ experience in all Microsoft desktop operating systems, network protocols and connectivity
· Working experience with all desktop related hardware and Microsoft software platforms
· Understanding of all Microsoft applications, from both the supporting and functional point of views; Windows 7, MS Office, MS Outlook and Exchange experience
· Mobile device support experience (iPad, Android, Blackberry (BIS/BES), Exchange active sync, etc)
PREFERRED SKILLS
· Asset management and Call logging tools
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage relationships with all Company Users, Business Unit departments, customers and suppliers
· Assist and help with all IT issues; Maintain the IT Stock room
· Install and support Windows Desktop packages including anti-virus and mail on all machines
· Assist with maintaining, upgrading and supporting the network and server room
· Build and support desktop and laptop computers; Prepare and maintain installation guides
· Assist with troubleshooting, investigating and repairing any server problems e.g mails, connection issues etc
· Provide basic training to users on operating systems and desktop packages e.g Windows / Office
· Advise management of new capabilities and features of Software and /or Hardware used on a daily basis throughout the company
· Handle all IT Support calls that are logged on Helpdesk system, Provide all users with accurate IT and cellphone data.
· Provide external customers, clients and suppliers with accurate information and high quality service
· Ensure communication and building of strong networking skills with suppliers
· Provide technical support and resolving calls outside of regular working hours
