DIESEL MECHANIC
Overview: To service, repair and maintain vehicles, LDVs and trucks
Duties
Receive the workshop job card and check its content for accuracy and understanding
Attend to office hour & after hour breakdowns
Job cards sign off
Ensure all parts and oils used on job is booked to job card
Perform all maintenance services in accordance with manufacturers specifications and the maintenance schedule/maintenance computer
Perform all visual inspections, calibration work, adjustments etc.
Identify deviations, irregularities and unusual wear and tear and give feedback to Workshop Foreman
Inspect disassembled and dismantled parts and replace them with new or reconditioned parts
Return parts (old/unusable parts) and document the work carried out
Compare the current state of the vehicle with common production configurations and evaluate its technical condition
Perform final checks on the vehicle being repaired, and that the vehicle is roadworthy and functionally reliable
Ensure dress code is in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures
Maintain housekeeping standards daily
Ensure standards of Health and Safety are maintained
Requirements
Grade 12
Trade tested Automotive Diesel Mechanic
Valid Code C (10) or EC (14) drivers license
Remuneration
Minimum of 3 years post trade test experience
R25000 negotiable
