The Teddy Bear Foundation is a registered NPO providing holistic and integrated support services to children and families affected by child abuse, whilst also lobbying & advocating for victims on regional and national levels.
The Foundation recognizes that in today’s fast-paced digital world having a strong online presence is non-negotiable.
To this end, the Teddy Bear Foundation is looking for a dynamic, experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to join the team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate is passionate about digital marketing, creative, and detail-oriented. He/she has in-depth knowledge and experience of all digital platforms which he/she will use to enhance the Foundation’s online presence, grow the brand’s awareness and reach and leverage to contribute to the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
POSITION OUTPUTS:
- Develop, and implement a holistic digital marketing strategy with a core focus on social media, online reputation management, and search engine optimisation (SEO)
- Create monthly social media content calendars – writing content for posts, designing posts, scheduling approved posts
- Content creation – for web and social media – written content, designing images/taking photos, video creation
- Attend and cover events for social media
- Build relationships with partners and stakeholders and identify opportunities to leverage both from an online perspective
- Measure the success of all social media activities with robust reporting monthly, providing insight/analysis and recommendations
- Support the marketing team in implementing marketing campaigns
- Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis (Observance of the world around and the SA landscape – trend watching)
- Identify new marketing channels and opportunities for the Foundation
- Maintain the Foundation’s website and ensure it is always up-to-date with relevant information
- Provide monthly digital reports demonstrating the performance of all platforms, with recommendations for improvement
- Report writing, providing constructive feedback (excellent use of English)
- Leverage and utilize digital channels to secure financial and non-financial donations and actively measure the impact thereof
- Copywriting – writing social media posts, articles for the website, website copy, monthly blogs – incorporating SEO principles
- Manage the brand’s online reputation and take corrective action where required
- Maintain all digital platforms and assets
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- BSc degree (or equivalent) in Marketing or relevant field
- 3-5yrs experience in digital marketing and social media management (with a portfolio of evidence)
- Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media applications and best practices
- Knowledge and use of web traffic metrics
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office products
- Video editing and Adobe Creative Suite skills are an advantage
- Excellent writing and proof-reading skills

The individual must have
- Driver’s license and own car
- An up-to-date smart cellular phone
- Stable and reliable internet connectivity outside of work hours
The incumbent will report at the Foundation on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday (day hours to be confirmed) and report directly to the Clinic Director.
Note: The appointed incumbent will need to undergo personally certain vetting procedures as per the Children’s Act.
