Success in this role relies on a comprehensive knowledge of Digital Advertising, a deep understanding of all components of advertising sales and ad tech (Programmatic Direct PD - and Programmatic Guaranteed - PG) coupled with a proven track record in hitting revenue targets and closing business. Attention to detail and the ability to forecast and deliver accurate reporting are key attributes in this role.
Accountabilities And Performance Metrics
- 1. Revenue Generation
- Achieve digital target.
- Pro-actively identifying digital trends and impacts and building strategic digital solutions and contingencies.
- Constantly identifying oportunities within the newspaper.
- Maintaining accurate and updated Account Plans.
- 2. Staff Management
- Recruit and maintain digital sales staff.
- Lead, coach and manage team and maintain top level presence at agencies.
- Perform KPA performance reviews with sales team every 6 months.
- Analyse sales team performance within portfolios and make necessary adjustments.
- 3. Digital / Editorial
- Close collaboration with the Digital Team / Editorial to ensure all proposals / ideas are achievable within our parametres.
- Ensuring that sufficient out of the box ideas are generated and proposed to industry.
- Ensure that competitor activity is closely monitored and that we are one step ahead in terms of offerings and the level of service.
- 4. CRM Management
- Understand client requirements and optimise processes to meet those requirements.
- Ensure you maintain and grow relationships with clients/agencies.
- Ensure contact surface is correct and managed.
- Entertain clients / agency when and where necessary.
- 5. Financial
- Ensure acurate calculations are done for target setting.
- Ensure rates and discounts are managed correctly to ensure the financial viability of the Digital unit.
- Maintain sales proposals within the annual budget constraints.
Knowledge / Experience
- 5+ years in Management of staff, operations, and process.
- Market knowledge and insight.
- Ability to establish and maintain business relationships.
- Previous experience within the media industry.
- Writing effective and successful proposals.
- Matric and Qualification in Marketing, Digital, Communications, Media, or a related discipline
- Sales or marketing Diploma (IMM/AAA) an advantage.
- 5+ years of relevant experience supporting integrated digital Marketing brand presence
- Strong grasp of digital marketing best practices across websites, landing pages, social media marketing, email, mobile, banner ads, online video, paid search, SEO, programmatic etc.
