Full Job Description

We are actively hiring for a Printing Production Supervisor

Night Shift for our Johannesburg based factory. Prior management experience in the Printing Industry is required to be considered. The Production Supervisor works under the direction of the Senior Production Manager and leads employees in the production department to meet daily production goals. This individual needs be a leader that believes in fostering growth, pride, and productivity in their team. Primary responsibility is to manage all in-house print production. This task includes printing and the CMT of jobs as well as coordinating all related Production duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure that all printing equipment is being properly maintained.
Communicate on regular basis with Senior Production Manager regarding production and HR concerns.
Introduce innovative supportive ideas and follow-up on unsettled issues.
Maintains and ensures a clean and safe work environment for employees.
Coordinates daily workflow across processes as needed.
Trains employees to operate equipment, improve productivity, quality, and lead-times.
Works hands on in various processes as needed to support production goals.
Observe work and monitor metrics to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
Leads production meetings and communicates with other shift managers about status of daily production.
Problem solves any issues with good judgment.
Performs other job duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience

Must have five-year experience in the management field. Print Production Experience Essential.
Must have experience in the following production departments: printing, cutting, folding, colour management, stitching and QC.
Experience with Digital Printing essential, additional experience in Screen Printing beneficial
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
Computer knowledge: MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word, Adobe
Must be able to work Night Shift and occasional weekends
Ability to work independently and proactively in fulfilling operational needs.
