Lead responsibility for all marketing and new business initiatives for Corporate Affairs and Capital Markets. Achieve new business targets and deliver on other KPIs. Lead the development of the Corporate Affairs and Capital Markets practice. Provide strategic counsel as well as overall client direction to all clients across Corporate and Capital Markets Practice. Lead on new client projects.
Support the CEO on company responsibilities and initiatives. Design and develop the strategy and business plan to support the vision of Corporate Affairs and Capital Markets looking at sound revenue growth to support the HR and resource ambition that will help grow reputation and make the business fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Business Development
- Provide strategic client counsel at the board level based on experience and industry knowledge
- Demonstrate a successful strategy for growing a network of contacts
- Identify and convert potential synergies across corporate and public policy
- Arrange external meetings with individuals to generate new business ideas and opportunities
- Oversee all marketing addressing senior-level people, including non-executive directors
- Attend conferences and other similar events to network and establish new contacts, business ideas, and innovative new working practices
- Seek out Op-Ed and placement openings
- Lead new business development, proactively targeting new business opportunities and meeting agreed annual new business targets
- Direct and oversee the preparation of well-structured and creative new business pitches, proposals, and presentations
- Support colleagues in their new business, providing counsel and support where appropriate
- Look to engage with Partners and Managing Partners across the business as a whole for commercial new business
- Responsible for identifying and capturing new leads and opportunities that can build out our new business proposition, driving revenue
- Demonstrate commercial awareness, including an understanding of service level against fee income - takes the initiative and responsibility for raising issues as necessary
- Ensure all client's proposals are commercially viable and profitable for the business
- Ensure a quality and informed output for clients for their financial communications needs
- Provide guidance on strategic decision that enhance the companys offering and drives financial performance
- Maintain and foster high-level relationships with CEOs and Board Level Executives
- Oversee and advise on well-structured and creative new business proposals and pitch presentations when appropriate
- Identify opportunities for brand exposure either through client entertainment or sponsorship opportunities
- Is connected to the trends, insights, and networks in the industry sectors in which clients operate and respond to industry issues where appropriate
- Manage own client relations
- Direct or support new clients, as required
- Advice to colleagues on any client matter, including commerciality
- Act as a mentor for nominated individual(s)
- Review and recommend to the CEO support and resource levels in the practice
- Advise CEO of any issues and recommend actions
- Liaison with overseas offices to ensure a consistent offer
- Manage projects that arise for continued growth in this practice area
- Create and manage an appropriate Corporate Affairs and Capital Markets organisation structure to support the ambitions of the business
- Identify talent to be considered as part of the organisation structure if there are gaps. Look at junior talent that could be considered as part of an apprenticeship programme
