The Director of Development will need to be an inspirational and a dynamic leader who can motivate and steer the NPO on their Christian missions. To be considered for this role you must emulate the organisation's beliefs and have 5 years' experience of securing fundraising.
This is a work from home remote role. You must be based in either Gauteng or Cape Town for this role. There will be an element of travel in this role- 50% of your time will be spent traveling.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in fundraising or a related field
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire and persuade.
- Proficient in technology, especially in CRM usage.
- Self-motivated with high energy, confidence, and a positive attitude, coupled with humility.
- Capable of handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality with unwavering integrity.
- Develop a strategic emphasis on securing commitments of funding from high net-worth individuals and foundations.
- Solicit and negotiate monetary donations, gifts and multi-year commitments annually.
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 qualified relationships, employing a "moves management approach".
- Conduct 150+ face-to-face visits annually for qualification, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Engage leadership and donors in prospect identification, visits, and solicitation endeavors.
- Collaborate with colleagues to assess portfolios, strategize upgrades, and cultivate individual gifts.
- Forge robust relationships with colleagues delivering programs.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in understanding donors' motivations and adapt to meet their needs effectively.
- Align partner interests with our strategy and convincingly present unique giving opportunities.
- Supervise the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and reports.
- Furnish accurate and timely activity reports, revenue forecasts, and manage expenses.
