Element has an excellent opportunity for a Dispatch Co-Ordinator at our newly opening facility in Midrand, Johannesburg.
Element Cape Town Laboratory is opening a Logistics Centre on Richards Drive, Johannesburg as part of our expanding operations in South Africa.
Our South African business works closely with the Element Deeside UK Laboratory which is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours and gases from all over the world. The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver. Element Johannesburg will support our Cape Town and Deeside laboratories by preparing and despatching client orders for sample containers and packages. In addition, it will receive the resulting samples, log them in, repackage and forward on to Cape Town and Deeside as appropriate.
Verantwortlichkeiten
- Schedule pickups and deliveries
- Pack and dispatch sample containers following set procedures
- Unpack, check and accurately schedule tests against samples following the clients instructions into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as quickly and efficiently as possible as per the chain of custody (CoC)
- Email schedule confirmations
- Communicate with the SA and UK scheduling team, clients and analysts regarding any large or non-routine analysis requests
- Communicate with the laboratories about any hazards and known levels of contamination
- Arrange subcontracted analysis and ensure samples are promptly dispatched
- Inform and update the Project Manager with any problems concerning collections
- Ensure subcontracted data is received in a timely manner
- Communicate with SA and UK sample reception to ensure fast turnaround jobs are logged promptly
- Maintaining stock levels and re-ordering with Management
- Compliance with the company Quality, Health and Safety procedures at all time
- Working hours: 8:00 till 17:00 - 40 hours with an hour lunch
- Own transportation
- Education Level: Grade 12 Matric
- Higher education qualification in Science or a Science related subject preferable
- Experience within a dispatch/logistic environment preferable
- Alternative qualifications will be considered depending on relevant equivalent experience
- Highly motivated and organised individual
- Excellent attention to detail and a good listener and communicator
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team and adhere to deadlines
