A well-known chemical raw material company requires the above to manage and oversee the personal / home care and pharma chemical raw materials division within the company supplying manufacturing companies. Drive and manage a sales and technical team overseeing customer and commercial activities on a national and international level. Minimum requirements for the role:
- Minimum matric is essential.
- A tertiary qualification (BSc/COSCHEM) in a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience having worked within the personal care, home care or pharma industries wherein you have managed a sales team is essential for the role.
- Previous sales management experience is essential for the role.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must have a sound knowledge of the principles of sales and marketing - this includes market implementation strategy and tactics, product development (NPD/share shift)
- Must have a sound knowledge of the personal care, home care or pharma manufacturing sectors.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong team player with the ability to build and foster relationships.
- Managing and driving the company's national sales strategy and sales objectives for the personal care/home care and pharmaceutical business.
- Developing and maintaining a cohesive national pipeline rollout implementation strategy and ensuring the regional managers and account sales personnel are aligned accordingly.
- Managing company working capital and adopting a responsible prudent approach to managing stocks and debtors.
- Planning and directing staffing, training requirements and ongoing personnel performance evaluations to develop necessary skillsets and identify shortfalls to ensure high levels of sales professionalism with the PPC team.
- Structuring and determining monthly price lists, overseeing contractual transactions supported with accurate costings and adopting financial prudency (trade cycles and cash positive/neutral considerations).
- Structuring and implementing sales budgets and regular review thereof, addressing variances and ensuring key sales metrics are met and/or exceeded.
- Ensuring effective deployment of the sales teams with key customers.
- Managing key principal partners with effective exchange of market intel backed by regular reporting and adoption of accurate quantifiable and qualifiable pipeline activity that is mutually accepted by key stakeholders in the business.

- Manage sales activities that include the setting of sales budgets, rep, GP targets and ongoing monitoring of their performance.
- Determine and develop a sustainable pricing strategy to enhance profitability and grow long-term market share.
- Present sales forecasts and budgets to senior management.
- Monitor and manage sales turnover, gross margin, fixed and variable costs, research and development, production and distribution.
- Implement market policies to strengthen the company image, including development, presentation, achievements, new technology and concepts with target customers and accounts.
