Purpose of Role:
The position is responsible for the design of all ETO equipment, primarily Enduron Screens, Cavex Clusters and Multiflo Pontoons and skids. This includes the creation general arrangement and manufacturing drawings which translate the customers requirement into a physical solution.
The role also provides technical support to the sales team and problem solving to all production related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety First:
- Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Use of NX CAD software at an advanced level to develop 3D models, assemblies, general arrangement drawings and manufacturing drawings. All work to be done timeously, with a focus on safety and quality.
- Produce practical, functional and safe designs that are of a structural and mechanical nature.
- Manage CAD and project data within the PLM software (Teamcenter).
- Provide technical support to Sales team to assist with tenders and customer queries.
- Provide technical support to third part fabricators and in-house production team. Primarily, resolving design issues timeously to keep projects on track.
- Provide technical support to other company departments as required.
- Manage and prioritize all work responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Weir products.
- Drive initiatives to improve products, internal processes and best practices.
- Work within the ETO team to share knowledge and experiences to assist in growing the capability of the team and its members.
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent - NQF level 6 (Desired).
- 10 years experience in a draughting office designing mechanical equipment.
- 6 Years experience designing mechanical and/or structural equipment for the mining industry.
- Working knowledge of CAD & PLM software.
