Job Specification
Key Performance area:
- Operate heavy duty vehicles
- carrying out routine vehicle checks
- driving vehicles to their destination and unloading according to site requirements
- maintaining a logbook/Trip sheet with details of trips
- Carry out all reasonable instructions from Supervisors
- Ensure all documentation pertaining to deliveries are recorded
- Adhere to Customers Bio-Security rules
- Adhere to all safe working procedures
- Adhere to cleaning procedures of vehicle
- Perform ancillary duties when required
- Willing to work 12 hr shifts, nightshifts, weekends and public holidays
- Preferably own reliable transport (shift work)
- Compliance to all Health and safety requirement
Profile
Education and Experience
- Code 14 Driver's License - minimum 3 years from date of first issue
- Valid PRDP
- Minimum of 3 Years articulated driving experience would be an advantage
- Literacy level - Grade 12
- Read ,Write and communicate in English
- Experience in driving on dirt roads will be advantageous
- Be reliable, punctual and self-motivated
- Ability to perform administrative task associated with the job
- Must have traceable references

- Reporting procedure of emergencies and defects
- Maximum vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
- Driver actions into weather/road/traffic conditions
- Function and Location of vehicle components
- Successfully complete medical evaluation
- Clean Criminal record verification
- Successfully complete required In-house training program – Operate a combination vehicle Theory & Practical and Fatigue Management
