Qualifications & Accreditations
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years working experience as a colour retoucher/DTP operator
- Colour corrected to actual samples
- Mac DTP course – Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Distiller
- Advance Photoshop knowledge will be advantageous
- Knowledge and experience with various printers
Key Performance Areas
Colour retouching
- Ensure consistent and accurate colour retouching of images on a daily basis
Colour management
- Ensure all aspects of colour management of images is complete (from the correct handling of incoming images from photographers to the correct archiving/back-up procedures of colour corrected images)
Colour relationship with photographers and printers
- Analyse printing results to validate colour proofs on a continuous basis
- Maintain a good colour working relationship with printers and photographers
- Maintain a list of ‘unacceptable’ print jobs in conjunction with the production head
- Communicate the process of image management from input from photographers, through colour correction, to final PDF generation and colour proofing
Perform repro for print
- Ensure correct and consistent handling of incoming colour jobs
- Creating print ready files for various printers
- Making sure all printer profiles are correct
- Manage the work in process workflow
Other
- Additional ad hoc tasks as required and instructed by catalogue manager
