Key responsibilities:
- Trend research and leading editorial brainstorm sessions
- Manage the editorial process of fashion magazines from concept through to end product
- Proofread, edit and write articles to meet publication standards
- Ensuring all work produced is consistent and on-brand
- Review, approve and sign-off page proof before it goes to press
- Manage writing staff and freelance content producers
- Oversee photography, design and artwork to be used in the publication
- Meet with writers and designers to discuss features, layouts and artwork
- Comply with media law and industry regulations
- Commission and send regular briefs to freelance writers
- Network actively at industry events
Key requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in journalism, marketing or communications
- At least 3-5 years experience in print and digital production
- Experience with Adobe InDesign
- A creative and innovative personality
- The ability to work under pressure and have lots of energy and drive
- Great organisational skills, deadline-driven and the ability to manage time well
- Strong writing, editing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to nurture long-term relationships with key publication influencers
- A natural leader who displays strong decision-making and attention to detail
- Ability to understand and influence target audiences
- A self-starter who enjoys working in a team, but can work independently
- The ability to multi-task with high attention to detail
- A keen interest and understanding of pop culture, tech trends and the tech industry.
