Duties include:
- Provide schematic and harness designs for electrical wiring systems and components in a variety of applications to meet customer requirements and project specifications. Apply fundamental engineering principles to electrical components to insure performance.
- Specify, locate and validate electrical components which meet product design goals while complying with government regulations and supplier installation requirements. Lead off site contract resources in custom work order and product change request solutions
- Maintain bills of materials and documentation to support the day-to-day activities.Troubleshoot electrical systems installed on vehicles.
- Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements. Provide design solutions for customer work orders. Interface with materials and purchasing on new part design and sourcing.
- Interface with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine the most effective and economical use of materials and manufacturing processes. Interface with the Product Regulation and Compliance staff to design vehicles that meet government regulations, restrictions and codes.
- Create parts, assemblies and assembly instructions using Unigraphics.
- Interface with Electronic control system logic and programming utilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Zero to three years experience in heavy duty truck or automotive environment
- Proficiency with UGNX6 (or similar 3D CAD systems) and C++ programming experience highly desirable
- An understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes, weld symbols, machining symbols, GD&T's etc is highly desirable.
