About the role:
The Electrical / Mechatronics Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechatronic systems and products. This role requires a multidisciplinary approach, integrating mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to create innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems for industrial plants.
- Integrate mechanical, electrical, and automation components to create efficient and reliable systems.=
- Develop tender documents and drawings.
- Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Conduct tests and analyze data to identify and rectify issues in mechatronic systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software developers, to achieve project goals.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in grid code compliance, SSEG and implement improvements in designs and processes.
- Ensure all designs and systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Bachelors degree [EB1] in Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering or a related field
- A professional registration with ECSA is beneficial.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Experience with ETAP / DigSilent.
- Knowledge of LV and MV switchgear design, SSEG and small scale PV installations.
- Familiarity with electrification and automation of Water plants.
- Understanding of PFC, Harmonics, earthing and lightning protection.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to take ownership and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
