Our client, a plastic extrusion plant company, requires the skills of an ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL shift Technician.
Duties:
The Shift Technician will be responsible for hands- on continuous maintenance and improvement done to equipment and machinery within the plant for the purpose of reducing and minimizing downtime to production. The technician will report direct to the Maintenance Manager.
Requirements/skills:
- N2 trade tested electrician with sound mechanical background
- 5 Years minimum experience after qualification in a production environment (Experience in plastics manufacturing environment will be advantageous)
- Good electrical control circuit faultfinding skills.
- Must be able to read electrical diagrams and work on 3 phase power circuits
- Mechanical experience. Sound understanding of mechanical components such as gearboxes, bearing installation, alignment of v- belts, pulleys and couplings. Engineering measurements
- Own reliable transport to and from work
- Willing and able to work shifts.
- This is a 24/7 operation. 3 days day shift 07:00- 18:00, 3 days night shift 18:00- 07:00, 3 days off.
- Overtime payed at 1.5x normal rate and 2.2x normal rate on public holidays.
- Working hours may change based on the company operational requirements.
- Own basic hand tools (Screw drivers, side cutters, measuring tape, allen keys, spanners 8-24mm, water pump pliers etc.). Tools damaged due to normal wear and tear will be replaced by the company.
- A clamp on multi-meter will be provided by the company
- Able to lift heavy equipment, work at heights and crawl between small spaces
- Hands- on self-starter
- Attention to detail
