L&Q are looking for experienced Electricians to join of our in-house maintenance team working out of our South and South East London patches.

The role will be dealing with all aspects of Electrical maintenance within our properties. Including CCU upgrades, fault finding, accessory changes, electrical testing as required and ensuring our homes are safe, compliant, and habitable. The focus will be on high quality work, outstanding customer service and a right first-time attitude.

We are focused on meeting targets, both financial and customer related working to time frames and making sure that jobs per day are completed on time and within cost. The team must have a firm knowledge and be ability to actively contribute to ensuring that the Direct Maintenance teams KPIs are meet.

We are looking for experienced individuals with a good working knowledge in building and/or housing environment, particularly within social housing or local authority, with experience of working within a domestic and commercial Electricians role.

You will have a gained good electrical knowledge, understanding and experience of inspection & testing of electrical installations, including good ability to fault find and identify dangers. Be able to undertake repairs and achieve first time fixes to ensure services are maintained.

You will have the ability to self-manage and work under strict time constraints, and a have excellent customer service with proven track record in delivering service to internal and external customers.

As well as a customer service focus candidate will have a good understanding of the Health and Safety requirements and will act with resident safety in mind.

This role will require Out of Hours cover to be provided (on Rotation). Paid in accordance with policy at the time.

We are a multi-site organisation, so some roles may require occasional travel between our neighbourhoods.

To be considered for the role, the ideal candidate will hold qualifications within the following required areas:
  • Core Technical Competence, All electrical Works (EAS- Table 4C- All electrical Works)
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship, or Equivalent* (EAS- Route 1)
-or-
  • Older Technical or Craft Qualifications* (EAS- Route 2)
-or-
  • Experienced Worker Qualification (Maintenance/Installation Electrician* / ECS Gold Card or equivalent (Maintenance/Installation Electrician)
(* Have AM2 were necessary as per EAS Qualifications Guide)
  • Wiring Regulations (EAS- Table 4D)
  • Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671:2018)

  • Driving license
  • Hold a full UK Manual driving licence.
Desirable -
  • Inspection & Testing
  • Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection & Testing and Certification of in-service Electrical Installations (QCF) or equivalent
  • Plumbing, Carpentry, general building works.
  • Use of PDA & basic computer skills.
