Electronic Technician

A company in Somerset West is looking for an Electronic Technician the right candidate will be responsible for the design, assembly and testing of development and production electronic products/components in the military field.

REQUIREMENTS

· BTech (Electronic Engineering) or relevant NQF 6 technical qualification.

· 4-6 Years’ experience in the design, assembly and testing of products in a development and production environment.

· Experience in an armaments or other high tech. industry will be an advantage.

· Experience of Explosives / explosives items will be an advantage.

· Computer literacy (Altium, Orcad, MS Office, etc.).

· Able to work independently or interactively as a member of a team.

· Good communication skills (verbal, written & interpersonal).

· Self motivated with creative and innovative mind.

. Must be South African citizen.

PERFORMANCE AREAS

· Assembly of SMD and leaded PCBs in accordance with the necessary standards.

· Study and interpret specifications, manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions in preparation of build.

· Manufacturing, testing and refurbishment of harnesses and control boxes for military

· Support and conduct activities instructed by the Electronics Engineer.

· Apply manufacturing and workmanship principles to ensure military standard compliance for all development and production products/components.

· Compile build history.

· The incumbent will be responsible for the facility and the activities in the Electronics Laboratory.

· Supplier liaison during procurement of components.

· Client liaison during acceptance testing.

· Participate in testing of missile systems/subsystems and related components.

· Inputsto detailed manufacturing data packs

· Assist in assembly and integration of missile systems/subsystems.
