The role will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
Design, build and deploy complex IaaS and PaaS infrastructure solutions
Support existing on-prem solutions and platforms
Document infrastructure engineering procedures and collaborate on various information technology projects.
Participate in application migrations to public cloud environments
Responsible for technical documentation
Support audit and compliance related activity involving our infrastructure
Embrace a team mentality, by mentoring more junior engineers and cross-training with other engineers
Support occasional off-hour work activities
Perform all other related duties as assigned
Systems provisioning and project delivery
Administration and optimization of windows and Linux systems within the data centre
Virtualization setup and administration using VMware, MS Hyper- V, OVM
Vulnerability assessment and routine patch management cycles
System / Filesystem clean-up, server reboot as required
Security management, from physical access, systems hardening and routine patching cycles in response to vulnerability assessment results.
In consultation with Client Global Connect, play a key role in remediating against identified audit findings
Assist in implementing security blueprint and Client Group best practices.
Capacity Management, performance tuning and systems enhancement
Ensure all application certificates are renewed and installed
Provide job scheduling, job execution, reporting and resolution, considering infrastructure and system interdependencies
Administration and management of all database systems which include but not limited to Oracle Database, MySQL Database, Microsoft SQL, etc.
Performance and tuning of database systems to ensure that the databases perform optimally and in line with Client requirements.
Database consolidation.
Trend analysis and capacity planning.
Generating period reports and Ad-hoc reports on demand.
Housekeeping, archive / transaction log generation monitoring.
Trouble shooting and Resolving all data base faults and error resolution
Verifying database integrity and identify corruption.
Deploy necessary monitoring tools to the client environment to ensure all components are monitored 24 x 7 and necessary alerting is in place
The monitoring tools should also be able to perform external detection, anomalies such as latency, nonresponsive and malfunctioning systems, or applications
Ensure automated event correlation and alert generation, with integration into the incident management system (currently ServiceNow
Education:
- Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (B Eng. / BSc Degree preferred)
- Relevant certification/accreditation/membership with professional body as required for role
- Fluent in English
Experience:
- 5+ years of infrastructure technology design and support experience.
- Experience supporting hardware virtualization (VMWare)
- Experience supporting backup technologies (NetBackup)
- Experience supporting storage solutions (HP,Dell)
- Understanding of advanced networking concepts and design (WAN, LAN, SD-WAN)
- Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools.
- Working knowledge and understanding of public cloud computing platforms (Azure, Google, AWS)
- Knowledge of UNIX-Solaris, AIX, HPUX, Windows, Linux
- Knowledge of database technology Oracle, Microsoft SQL, mySQL ets
- Experience of and a strong understanding of IT security
- Experience working on or with teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
