The Design Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing the companys energy storage technology and product roadmap in line with the overall strategy of the organization.
Research and Development
- Conduct research on technical trends, applications, and battery functionality to the direction of product development.
- Develop new product concepts in line with customer and market demand
- Develop and implement improvement initiatives on existing products
- Guide the early-stage product development process by producing high level designs and prototypes as per product development process
- Complete detailed designs for new products and ensure that technical documentation is accurate and complete
- Develop all the necessary documentation to prepare products for production including product test results, usability results, product blueprints, wiring guidelines, Spec Sheets, etc.
- Ensure all technical documentation is completed in-line with design requirements, international standards, and local legislation
- Design the manufacturing/assembly process in line with the design of the products
- Validate model-based designs using desktop simulation packages
- Implement requirements using MATLAB/Simulink/State-flow.
- Interact with other teams to develop controls requirements
- Develop and maintain design documentation
- Support tools development, compiler setup, static analysis, and software configuration management
- Support failure mode analysis of the various hardware features and failure mode management strategies
- Support Worst Case Circuit Analysis and Schematic Reviews with BMS supplier.
- Handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
- B.Sc/B.Eng Electrical Engineering
- 3 years experience in PLC/Controller Programming
- Experience in energy storage design and development will be an advantage
