Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Manage the end-to-end Rotables process, ensuring timely identification, return, approvals and replacement of defective or worn items.
- Coordinate with maintenance, production and supply chain teams to prioritize and schedule repairs to minimize downtime.
- Tracking and monitoring inventory levels of rotables, identifying opportunities to optimize stock levels while maintaining availability as well as provide regular reports on inventory levels, QC inspection results, and maintenance metrics.
- Developing and maintaining QA/QC processes for incoming, stored, and outgoing rotables, ensuring that all items meet quality standards and specifications.
- Conducting inspections and testing on rotable items, documenting results and maintaining a quality database.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and drive corrective actions for quality issues.
- Supporting the facilities management team with maintenance and operational requirements, ensuring the warehouse infrastructure is safe, functional, and compliant with regulations.
- Implementing best practices in storage and preservation of items to maintain their quality and readiness for use.
- Developing and maintaining records for storage and preservation activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Support audits and inspections and implementing corrective actions as required.
- Identifing opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of repairable and rotables items management, QA/QC, facilities management, and storage/preservation.
- Liaise with the other Engineering Specialists and Foremen to ensure that any problems that could overlap with their requirements are pro-actively identified and discussed.
- Will execute any reasonable work instruction provided by any senior or team members to ensure the effective completion of a task or safe making of an area.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- National Diploma in Engineering
- Trade qualification
- Engineering Specialist Certificate
- Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous
- Government Certificate of competence will be advantageous
- 5 years experience as Engineering Foreman
- Basic computer literacy.
- Manufacturing knowledge (Platework /machining/Fitting).
- Mechanical and structural Drawing understanding.
- Service environment.
- Valid driving license
