To who it may concern,
My personal aspiration is to build on my achievements and can offer you a combination of practical experience and theoretical knowledge obtained throughout my 13 years at Petra Diamonds in all sectors of diamond mining. I am an individual with good morals and a strong work ethic, evident in my leadership skills as a safety representative, foreman, team player and hard worker.
More specifically my experience includes fabricating steel structures from start to finish. This involved cutting and drilling of I-beams, base plates, channels, angle irons, flat bars and plates for chutes and bins as per manufacturing drawings. The first stage of assembling involved welding all the parts together as per drawing. After all the parts are manufactured the assembly of all the whole plant starts and commissioning of the plant comments. During my three years working in Tanzania for Williamson Diamond Mine, I was a Diamond Protection Officer. My duties involved the operation and maintenance on the final recovery and sort house which required a Level 3 security clearance to work in the red zone. The general maintenance involved fabricating and replacing steel pipes, chutes, bucket elevator, vibrating screens and feeders.
The last year and a half I have had the privilege to work underground as a Maintenance Boilermaker where my duties are to maintain two Osborn Jaw crushers, two Osborn Grizzly feeders, an Osborn Apron feeder and conveyor belt structure, skirtings, tip structures, discharge chutes, liners and guards. Within my given section my duties also include pipework for pumps, make up pieces and reducers. I have also had the opportunity to work alongside an underground fitter. In doing so I have obtained some experience and knowledge on hydraulics on both rock breakers and and apron feeders, alignment of pumps and motors and conveyor belt alignment. On occasions I have been called out to work on the trackless machines which involve repairing drilling booms and repairing wheel loaders.
During my time at Petra Diamonds I was also responsible for coordinating the work by planning the day to day duties. In doing so, I demonstrated that I am able to work without supervision. During this time I was also responsible for developing my skills, knowledge and experience by undertaking training which included a 25 ton mobile crane license, basic rigging and slinging, working on heights, firefighting, safety lifting equipment and first aid.
I have joint the Mine Rescue Service as a Proto Brigadesmen in September 2019
I have also developed a competent level of IT skills and have developed my skills in time management, problem solving and working under time constraints.
I would be happy to discuss my application with you at your convenience and should you require any further information please feel free to contact me.
