Engineering Superintendent Electrical

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To co-ordinate, facilitate and liaise on a tactical level regarding engineering support services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • A recognized Engineering Trade qualification - Electrical (Section 13/26D) is essential.
  • Grade 12/NQF level 4 qualification is essential.
  • N6 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Foreman is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as an Engineering Foreman at a Processing Plant is essential.
  • Registered with a recognised Engineering body (e.g.ECSA) will be an advantage.
  • Condition Monitoring qualification and experience will be an advantage.
  • Project Management qualification and experience will be an advantage.
  • A recognised qualification in Planned Maintenance will be an advantage.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Performance Management skills is essential
  • Problem solving & organisational skills are essential
  • Experience in the execution or site management of construction projects will be advantageous.
  • General knowledge of various engineering trades is essential.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office package) is essential.
  • Knowledge of SAP maintenance systems is essential
  • Knowledge of disciplinary procedure is essential
  • Knowledge of legislative & mine standards is essential
  • A valid drivers licence and own transport is essential.
  • A valid medical certificate or medically fit to obtain one.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
  • To achieve and maintain plant and equipment efficiency and running time
  • To implement contingency plans to reduce production losses
  • To implement effective operational and tactical management principles and procedures
  • To effectively monitor via budgeting and project management methodologies
  • To ensure compliance & review legislative and engineering standards
  • To perform routine maintenance on mills including all its auxiliaries, compressors, pumps, crushers, conveyors, furnaces, spray and flash dryers, converters and acid plant equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to Impalas standards and procedures.
  • Oversee Foremen performance, maintenance on infrastructure and equipment.
  • Be involved in managing safety, health and environmental standards including good housekeeping.
