Job Description

J&J MedTech is recruiting for a Supervisor Facilities Engineering reporting to the Manager Facilities Management Services EMEA within the Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) department and to be based in Johannesburg (South Africa).
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility to oversee Facilities & Engineering teams to support organizational objectives in a close partnership with the key business stakeholders and Engineering and Property Services organization.
- Manages day-to-day operations as they relate to the design, delivery, and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure that enable the achievement of organizational long-term goals.
- Supervises individual contributors, facilities services contractors and strategical partners, and is accountable for conducting effective performance management.
- Closely cooperates with Engineering and Property services organization to manage strategic partnership and contract(s) related to facilities management, including regular KPIs reviews and reporting and financial management and reporting.
- Closely cooperates with local business leads and Engineering and Property services organization to ensure alignment and accurate planning for facilities services OPEX
- Leads project management, maintenance, and improvement processes for the organizations capital investments (CAPEX, Long Range Financial Planning) that leverage facility failure data to improve the production reliability and safety of identified equipment and facilities.
- Assists with coordination of processes and assignments for Facilities Engineering area to ensure the delivery of consistent work products.
- Maintains steady workflow and productivity and resolves operational issues within the department.
- Responsible for managing operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within expected standards.
- Closely cooperates with enabling functions of the local business organization, mainly with Quality and EHS departments to achieve annual and long-term objectives.
- Cooperates with other partnering functions withing Engineering and Property services organization (Project Delivery, Real Estate, Workplace experience) to ensure company strategic goals and objectives are met
- Understands and applies Johnson & Johnsons Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
Education & Experience
- Technical / Project Management education background
- Minimum Secondary Technical / Project Management School / Lyceum
- Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred
- Professional certifications (Lean, Six Sigma Green / Black belt) preferred
- Minimum 5 years facilities management experience or equivalent
- Proven experience developing and leading facilities project programs
- Working knowledge of site services including technical and people related services
- Problem solving ability and ability to take ownership of projects and initiatives
- Ability to work strategically while maintaining a tactical / operational focus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-national team
- Adherence to safety and hygiene standards
- Computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Fluent and confident in English
