Environmental Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of environmental rehabilitation projects, with a primary focus on the mining sector. The successful candidate will be based in Centurion and must encompass a relevant BEng or BSc Engineering degree and more than 6 years experience within the environmental engineering sector. Minimum Requirements

• Relevant BEng or BSc qualification in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in Environmental Engineering.
• Registered with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa).
• Comfortable working outdoors and with building contractors.
• Willingness to travel.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Collecting and meticulously analysing environmental data.
• Crafting, modelling, and strategically planning environmental rehabilitation initiatives.
• Assuming a crucial role in overseeing construction activities during environmental rehabilitation projects.
• Formulating comprehensive plans for final land use.
• Calculating retirement obligations for mining assets and addressing environmental liabilities.
• Orchestrating wetland restoration and crafting intricate stormwater plans and designs.
• Conducting thorough site assessments to evaluate the environmental impact of mining or commercial operations.
• Ensuring that design projects align seamlessly with environmental regulations.
• Generating detailed reports on environmental investigations, as well as Engineering Design Reports (EDRs).
• Compiling precise Bill of Quantities for various design elements.
• Providing expert consultation and guidance to clients on environmentally sound practices.
• Efficiently managing projects and ultimately granting approval for environmental engineering endeavours.
• Maintaining effective communication channels with clients, government bodies, and other stakeholders to relay project progress, compliance matters, and environmental issues.
• Offering guidance and mentorship to Junior Engineers through reviews and mentoring.
