Duties
Under supervision, this position will primarily serve as District Lead and Healthy Home Coordinator for the assigned health district. Will perform duties in all aspects of the program to include, but not limited to:
- Conducting case reviews, inspections, risk assessments and writing reports.
- Providing guidance and education to families and the medical community.
- Coordinating outreach to a variety of audiences.
- Conducting enforcement activities.
- Serving as topic expert for the district in childhood lead poisoning.
EHS 2: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university which included the completion of 27 semester hours (or 40 quarter hours) in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.) AND One year of experience at the lower level PH Envir Compl Specialist 1 (RCP120) or position equivalent.
OR
EHS 3: Minimum qualifications AND One Year of experience at the lower level, PH Environmental Compliance Specialist 2 or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Public Health or Environmental Health/Science.
- Certified Georgia Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor.
- Certified Healthy Homes Specialist.
Certification as a Georgia Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor will be required within 120 days of starting employment per provided training.

The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.
Employment Information
All approved teleworking employees must reside within the state of Georgia and depending on the responsibilities of the position, must live within reasonable driving distance of the agencys primary worksite and be able to report to the office when required.
Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
