Hello Future Events Coordinator

Ashburton Investments is a new generation investment manager that offers investors access to more sources of return and more ways to manage risk. In the institutional space in South Africa as well as our Global business, we pride ourselves on offering solutions to address clients holistic balance sheet needs, and to support business strategies in the reallocation of investment capital in the face of increasing regulatory pressures. We see institutions as but not limited to, pension funds, long and short-term insurers, re-insurers, as well as medical aid schemes.

This role is intended to provide operational support to Ashburton marketing and specifically events area. The incumbent will plan and coordinate business related events, day-to-day formulation, planning and implementation of event-, sponsorship- and gifting-related activities. The role will also require close collaboration with the broader Ashburton Investments marketing team on general internal campaigns, as well collaborate with the RMB events team.

Are You Someone Who Can
  • Conceptualise to align with communication themes, plan of high standard, cohesive and consistent events (virtual and in-person) according to the Ashburton Investments client types (institutional, retail, intermediated and corporate clients), business units needs and objectives in accordance with the industry calendar.
  • Events include in-person niched lunch/dinners or golf days, exhibitions.
  • Monthly virtual webinars are part of the schedule.
  • Provide continuous feedback to stakeholders and suppliers
  • Manage sponsorship partners including (but not limited to): Collaborative Exchange, Institute of Retirement Funds, Batseta, Asset TV, CFA Society, AWIF, ABSIP etc. Manage vendor relationships.
  • Execution around all aspects of the event logistics i.e., venue and speaker booking, speaker briefs, dry-runs, marketing collateral etc.
  • Project manage current activations concurrently with new ones
  • Compile and manage each event budget.
  • Evaluate the success of events by providing event reports and metrics after the event to highlight benefits back to the business. Ensure learnings applied for continuous improvement.
  • Manage all event administration including the Ashburton FPI and CPD process.
  • Manage new vendor procurement process
  • Manage the brand store (purchase gifting, stationery, keep stock count of branding elements)
You will be an ideal candidate if you
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • A recognized diploma related to marketing.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in eventing and appropriate experience at an existing financial services company. Preference to those with specific investment-related experience
  • Analytical ability to distribution/invitee or attendance lists.
  • Creative flair on campaigns and event themes
  • Administratively strong
  • Brand custodian of Ashburton Investments brand
  • Project management skills (advantage)
