Vacancy for Marketing and Events Manager at Khanya College
The job description covers the following areas:
Marketing
-
To develop and manage marketing plans and budget.

To develop and implement promotional campaigns including:
-
Preparation of detailed communication briefs, and provide solutions to meet specific communication objectives

Regular feedback with team members, preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, presentations to senior management forums.

Participate in conceptualisation and implementation of marketing initiatives as well as various other projects.
-
Liaise with numerous external agencies/suppliers and various internal divisions within the organisation.

Translate research results into appropriate marketing actions.
-
Monitor developments within the constituencies the College serves and develop appropriate marketing strategies.
-
Liaise and interact with other organisational departments & initiatives on a proactive basis with the aim of enhancing marketing initiatives.

Develop & maintain appropriate administrative systems for marketing department
Events Organiser/Coordinate Functions
-
Conceptualise and organise all Khanya and House of Movements (HoM) events
-
Manage the budget process related to Events
-
Source new venues, transport & other logistics to facilitate and stage Khanya and HoM events
-
Interact with individuals and organisations hosting events
-
Negotiate sponsorships for events hosted by the College.
-
Promote Khanya events.
-
Create an information base to enhance the College’s management of events and the conference/education facilities.
-
Create an administrative infrastructure to manage events for Khanya.
-
To manage staff in the Events department.
-
Fundraise for events and events infrastructure
Other duties
• It is a requirement for all staff to be involved in the marketing of the organisation. •
• It is a requirement for all staff to travel in the course of their duties from time to time and if necessary to make use of their own vehicles for this purpose.
• It is a requirement for staff to make themselves available for out of town travel from time to time. This may take the form of local or international travel.
• Staff are required to take part in organising other College activities as and when it becomes necessary. •
• Any other duties that may arise from time to time and may reasonably be expected
Requirements
• Tertiary qualification in humanities, or an equivalent qualification
• Proven interest in social justice issues.
• Ability to write, edit and present reports.
• Ability to work accountably in a team.
• Ability to manage staff
• Strong presentation skills and clear and confident in team communication.
• Computer literacy (incl. Excel), online research and email applications.
• Preferably multi-lingual.
• Preferably owner of driver's licence (Code 8).

Salary and Benefits:
The College offers traditional benefits like medical aid, provident fund, and 13th cheque. The salary range for this position, depending on experience and skills, is R8769.91 per annum (Total Cost to Company). In exceptional circumstances, the package is negotiable.
