The Export Sales Manager:SSA will be responsible for the strategic and execution of the export drive of the Company into mainly Sub-Saharan Countries and to achieve the SSA export budget which includes but not limited to unit sales, revenue and profitability through continuing the excellent relationships that have already been established with their customer base. This will cover retention of the existing customers, ensuring the right products are made available in the SSA market by analysing the sales and related trends, developing sales plans and strategies to meet customer needs. This will also require the candidate to ensure all required and ordered stock arrives at the correct destination safely and in the correct quantity. Therefore, excellent relationships have to be established with Internal Departments in the Company viz, Warehousing and Logistics. In addition, ongoing liaison has to be made with the relevent Government Departments and customs and excise, duty costs, relevant laws and other related costs must all be considered in the export of the products as they affect delivery into SSA. Furthermore, the associated paperwork, reports, correspondence, packing, postage and other financial implications form part of this position. The candidate will assume responsibility for the successful implementation of the Company's export and expansion strategy into the SSA Region (and other environments in due course).
Key Performance Areas, Inter Alia, Include
- SSA Strategy development and execution
- Governance, Risk & Compliance Management by ensuring business practices are upheld
- Assist the Sales Manager in designing export strategies and be involved in projects from time to time
- Conduct surveys and market research to study and analyse changing needs of customers
- As mentioned above, maintain good working relationships with internal and external Stakeholders
- Administer the exports of goods and ensure compliance to all relevant Company policies and Government regulations & laws
- Monitor all existing and prospective markets in the SSA Region and identify business opportunities
- Ensure all legal aspects of the OSH Act and other statutory requirements are adhered to
- Together with the Sales Manager prepare the annual SSA Sales Budget.
- It will be recommended for the candidate to have relevant Diplomas and/or Courses as well as training in respect of sales, marketing and export. Ideally, the candidate will be from the automotive sector or allied thereto
- Must be able to travel into the SSA Region at least three or four days every second week which includes travelling long distances in the car from customer to customer. Problem solver, customer orientated and able to diplomatically handle customers from different backgrounds and ethnicities.
- Outgoing personality and people's person, excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, high energy, results driven, goal orientated and proactive with loads of initiative
- Strategic thinker, commercially orientated, proficient in computers especially Excel for report writing and analysis as well as PowerPoint for presentations, mathematically orientated and analytical ability.
