Minimum Qualifications
- Matric
- Draughting or Designing Qualification
A minimum of 3 - 6 years proven experience in facilities management, construction, or a related role
Knowledge and experience with Autocad, Sketch-Up and / or Artlantis
Knowledge of healthcare facility regulations (advantageous)
Must have excellent computer skills
Strong project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to cope well under pressure
Valid drivers licence and own car
Job Specifications
Prepare draughted plans for internal and municipal purposes, or for submission to the Department of Health.
Ensure compliance with relevant health regulations in all design plans.
Assist in the design of new cupboards / desks and other design requirements.
Work closely with the maintenance department on various technical matters.
Prepare detailed drawings for quotations and send them out for tendering.
Manage various projects from conception to completion.
Prepare orders and obtain authorisation from Directors for furniture and other interior-related items.
Write out orders for architectural drawings and plotting.
Develop storyboards and presentation drawings when required.
Ensure that room layouts / space planning is completed for doctors where necessary and sending it off to architect and builder for implementation.
Obtain finishes and electrical requirements from doctors for new rooms / upgrades and relaying them to the builder and architect.
Assist doctors and unit managers with queries relating to the building / equipment or finishes that require replacing or upgrading.
Attend to the interior design, changes, and upgrades of all facilities.
Assist with all building, planning and design matters for all affiliate companies, the Directors personal properties as well as the Group of Companies.
Print and prepare drawings for electronic technicians and the Head of Security for nurse call and camera placement.
Assist with all other building / design related duties under the instruction of the Facilities Manager or Directors where necessary.
Select samples of finishes, etc., and present them to the Management or Directors for approval.
Conduct quality audits of all the hospitals facilities
Conduct hospital walkabouts and compile snag lists.
Assist Hospital Managers in implementing snag corrections or renovations and report back to the Directors.
Monitor maintenance work logged for snags at various hospitals.
Visit sites to measure up and do snags when necessary.
Arrange and attend meetings with suppliers, contractors, and sub-contractors.
Take minutes of meetings.
Provide progress updates to Executive Management on a weekly basis.
Manage and liaise with contractors.
Maintain the filing system of documents and plans.
