- Matric.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a textile manufacturing environment.
- Experience with administrative duties and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Advantageous: AutoCAD or SketchUp.
- Proven managerial experience in a factory or production setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve production issues promptly.
- Humility and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Proficiency in email correspondence and supplier communication.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a factory environment.
- Operations Management: Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the factory, ensuring efficient production processes and adherence to deadlines.
- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain quality control standards for all products, including tents, marquees, gazebos, tarpaulins, and custom canvas products.
- Production Workflow: Coordinate with team members to optimise production workflows, minimize downtime, and ensure smooth factory operations.
- Middleman Role: Serve as the liaison between workshop employees and company Directors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on production goals.
- Employee Management: Address and resolve employee concerns and complaints, provide leadership, training, and motivation to achieve high team performance and maintain a positive work environment.
- Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction with both product quality and service.
- Machine Servicing: Oversee the regular servicing and maintenance of factory machines and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal disruptions in production.
- Fault-Finding & Problem Solving: Develop and apply fault-finding skills to quickly resolve equipment malfunctions and operational challenges.
- Administrative Duties: Manage email correspondence, respond to client queries, and liaise with suppliers regarding raw materials and inventory needs.
- Financial Calculations: Conduct accurate calculations for purchases and material requirements, ensuring cost-effective procurement practices.
- Inventory & Store Management: Assist in inventory management, including opening and closing the store, and ordering materials to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the factory, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
- Reporting: Communicate with management regarding production progress, challenges, and solutions to enhance overall efficiency and meet production goals.
