We have position available for a factory manager at our F.M.C.G Plant available in Pietermaritzburg.
Job requirements:
- The preferred candidate will have above average skills in the planning, leading, organizing and controlling of the organization.
- You will be required to manage a high speed automated facility.
- Your responsibilities will include pre-production planning, as well as controlling and supervising the company’s manufacturing functions.
- This will involve managing the flow of products, and to ensure timely delivery of the product at every stage.
- You will be required to spend long hours standing and moving about between the different departments within the factory.
- 10 years’ experience preferably with relevant tertiary education in the meat production industry
- Admin and management experience
- Must be highly motivated and be able to motivate staff to ensure that daily production and quality targets are met.
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Experience in safety and quality control
- Ability to multi-task
- Detail orientated
- Sound knowledge of sales and operational planning
Job responsibilities:
- Creating production schedules
- Overseeing production processes
- Ensuring products are cost effective by effectively utilizing manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital
- Ensuring products are produced and delivered on time
- Working out human and material resources needed for production
- Submitting orders for purchase
- Monitoring product standards, and implementing quality-control programs
- Ensuring timely deliveries by suppliers and sub-contractors
- Working with managers to implement the company’s policies and goals
- Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
- Supervising and motivating the production team
- Reviewing the performance of the production team
- Compile and ensure machinery maintenance schedule is adhered to
- Ensuring the maintenance and orderliness of all in-house production facilities
- Identifying training needs
- Continually improving safety records by addressing both physical safety issues and employees safety attitudes
- Maintaining individual skills by keeping up to date with latest production management concept
- Reviewing operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems
- Hire, train and evaluate staff
- Preparing and maintaining production reports and personal records
- Measure waste and develop ways to reduce wastage
