Reports into:

Senior Fashion Designer

Key Responsibilities

• Seasonal Trend analyses
• Weekly sales analyses & Post Seasonal SWOTS - applying knowledge and lessons to current inputs for in season trading.
• Conducting Comp shops, store visits with feedback presentations
• Work with the Fashion Design Team to present product constantly to fill the buy plans (fresh designs + internet research)
• Able to interpret the Overseas trends into commercial fashion for the SA customer and keeping the essence of the brand's customer in mind
• CAD up detailed technical drawings of selected styles on the computer
• CADs are put on a tech pack line sheet with fabric & trim information, prices, outwork, and necessary technical specifications.
• Data capturing of styles information onto the back-end system
• Source local and import trims
• Source + Place fabrics to styles suitable to the design and functionality of a garment
• Ordering the finalized sampling of fabric and trims timeously so fits aren't late. Getting necessary trims dyed to match well in advance
• Brief the styles to the pattern maker to ensure design protocol is being followed. Any issues or concerns are discussed during this time so an immediate solution is found
• Issue all patterns with sampling fabrics through for cutting and rating
• Manage and Work closely with the pattern maker and seamstress to ensure design protocol is being followed and quality is up to standard.
• Have daily design room planning board run through meetings with the brand coordinator. Work closely with the brand coordinator to ensure all the changes made are briefed ensuring that garment is re costed to ascertain impact on price
• Resolving fabric issues with priority + finalizing fabric colour match ups on styles
• Daily fittings on Fit Model & fit mannequin and briefing through comments to patternmakers for alteration/QC Final seal.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years work experience in the industry.
• Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design.
• Competency in MS Office packages and competency in Photoshop and Illustrator or Coral draw
