We are seeking a creative and passionate Fashion Editor to join our dynamic team. As a Fashion Editor, your keen eye for aesthetics is unmatched, and you have a knack for spotting the next big thing in the world of fashion. Whether it's curating the perfect looks for a photo spread or deciphering the language of fabrics, you're always a step ahead.
What You'll Do
- Create visual treatments that align to campaign concepts and brief objectives, outlining a brief for photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists and other creative contributors.
- Develop visual concepts for campaigns and content edits from end-to-end, partnering with a stylist, digital designer and copywriter to conceptualise campaign look and feel and ensure the highest quality visual content for a remarkable omni-channel experience.
- Optimise visual solutions to deliver the most effective imagery across our site, app, social media and email channels, as well as optimise for each customer segment. We want to meet them where they're at.
- Work alongside the producer to source the best locations, cast and crew for each campaign, working closely with the producer to ensure that shoots are within budget and meet all campaign objectives.
- Creative leadership in a team of styling, design and copywriting specialists.
- You'll lead with inspiration, drive innovative and creative thinking and constantly set the bar for our visual communications.
- Design and lead workshops that enable the best creative solution-making and establish rich concepts that guide visual language, styling, copy and design.
- Contribute to brand guidelines and seasonal toolkits.
- Suitably interpret creative toolkits to select photographers, stylists, hair & makeup artists to meet a commercial brief.
- Maintain a high standard of visual excellence when directing photoshoots on set, and guiding a photographer, stylist and hair and makeup artist in the creation of assets.
- Select the best imagery from every shoot, working closely with the digital designer, and liaise with the photographer and retoucher, or DOP and video editor, regarding any repro and edit requirements.
- Work closely with the digital design team from handover of assets to go-live, providing direction to ensure that the campaign message is effectively communicated across all channels.
- Act as the custodian of the visual language of our omni-channel brand, ensuring that every image that reaches the customer is exceptional and on-brand.
- In some cases, source products and style shoots.
- Consistently curate a base of creative contributors, feeding them creative briefs and overseeing the production of content.
This job is for you if you have:
- 5 years of experience as a lifestyle editor, art director, stylist or in a similar field, with a proven portfolio of excellent work.
- Must have extensive stills and film shoot experience. This includes having a good understanding of shoot planning, agility on shoots and rolling with the punches.
- Experience in the fashion or publishing industry.
- A keen eye for trends in fashion with the ability to digest them and create shoot treatments.
- A bachelor's degree in visual communication, design, or a related field.
- The ability to meet deadlines and excellent communication skills.
- An exceptional work ethic and can-do attitude.
- A keen eye for detail.
- One last thing! Sometimes shoots will need you to be flexible with your time. That means working on weekends, early mornings or late nights.
- Experience working in ecommerce or fashion retail.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team.
