Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 5 year's experience within the sales & merchandising in-store environment
- Driver's Licence
- Availability to travel and visit our retail stores, as needed
- Excellent coaching & training skills
- Previous experience as a team leader
- Ability to motivate employees to achieve compliance numbers
- Ability to manage the full in-store training cycle, including conducting in-person activities and using online communication platforms
In-Store Training
- Determine training needs both for individuals and teams, in-store
- Conduct onboarding training sessions for new hires
- Conduct regular SOP training to ensure full compliance of required procedures
- Train Field / Store teams on other respective training programs
- Collaborate with clients & store management to get feedback on complaints in order to design training solutions to eradicate problem areas
- Apply various training & coaching techniques to deliver effective knowledge & skills transfer
- Coordinating training materials and equipment to ensure problem-free
- Identify problem areas in individual in-store employees (both procedurally and skills related) and provide effective individual coaching to resolve issues.
- Act as a mentor to field staff for challenges they have on the job
- Create a learning environment by encouraging colleagues to help each other by sharing knowledge and experience
- Assign a "work buddy" to new in-store team members
- Conduct evaluations / assessments in store to assess the impact of the training delivered to determine skill gaps and any next steps required
- Monitor and review progress on programmes delivered
- Track and monitor individual employee progression and success through the learning process.
- Follow up with store employees to ensure additional/remediation assignments are completed as required.
- Track and maintain records of training interventions planned and delivered, individual coaching sessions & topics handled, and related time spent per store
- Attend and support L&D and staff team meetings
- Maintain updated records of training curriculum and material
- Provide the General Manager: Learning & Development with regular reports on the training & coaching delivered in your area.
- Analyze reports, identify trends and create a plan of action for consideration with business partners (Operations & L&D).
- Participate in regular supervision with GM: Learning & Development
- Assist curriculum writers in developing Specific training materials for in-store use
- Undertake Continuous Improvement initiatives related to training, coaching and In-store procedures.
