Reporting Line: Head: Finance
Role Summary:
The Finance Assistant will provide administrative support to the Finance Department with various generalist finance responsibilities. The incumbent will be exposed to the day-to-day processes which will include ensuring that all transactions are recorded in the correct ledger and computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records. The Finance Assistant will also be responsible for assisting with debtors and creditors related transactions.
Qualifications, Experience and Duties:
Qualifications:
Grade 12 (NQF 4)
Undergraduate Degree / Diploma in Finance or Accounting or equivalent NQF 7 level qualification
Experience:
Minimum 2 years working experience within a financial or similar environment
Experience on Sage 300 (advantageous)
Experience in debtors / debt collecting (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the Debtors function:
o ensure client-based accounts communication (invoices, statements, etc.) is done timely and effectively at month-end and when requested.
Debt collecting via email or telephonically.
Monthly reporting of debtor performance and aging.
Ensure that all personal training clients are invoiced, and payment is received.
Allocate all EFTs on the bank statement.
Import monthly debit orders to Sage 300.
Clear the safe of all credit card slips on a weekly basis.
Check the batch listings and ensure that all slips have been received.
Capture all receipts in the cashbook applying it to the debtors account.
Month-end credit card, photocopies and petrol card reconciliations.
Month-end cash drawer reconciliation.
Assist the sales department with debtors and contracts.
Assist with the year end audit.
Abilities, Skills and Attributes:
Basic understanding of the principles of financial analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to receive positive feedback and constructive criticism.
Organizational and time management skills.
