- Reporting directly to the Head of Finance & Operations, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Finance department and all its functions.
Monthly Closing Process:
- Lead the monthly closing process.
- Sign off reconciliations and analyze account computations.
- Review monthly journal entries for accuracy (in the general ledger and sub-ledger) and signoffs.
- Maintain, review, and reconcile fixed asset registers.
- Review financial reports and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Prepare financial reporting packs.
- Ensuring the financial results of the business are complete, accurate, and timeously prepared.
- Provide meaningful insights into performance for meetings.
- Sign off on reconciliations.
- Participate in the audit process and preparation, including that of systems.
- Assist in preparing the Annual Financial Statements.
- Uphold high-quality financial disciplines and controls across the company.
- Implement risk mitigation measures effectively.
- Influence policy creation, evaluation, and implementation.
- Develop and enforce internal controls, risk management, and compliance measures.
- Supervise accounts payable processes.
- Oversee the Cashbook and bank transactions.
- Engage with the Department handling accounts receivable and manage elements of accounts receivable.
- Research and resolve accounting issues.
- Evaluate and implement new accounting policies to ensure compliance.
- Continuously monitor expenses against budgeted and forecasted figures.
- Ensure expenses and subsequent payments are incurred against company policies and controls.
- Ensure effective cash forecasting and cash flow management.
- Prepare annual budget.
- Prepare quarterly forecasts.
- Manage regulatory and tax compliance processes.
- Review entity calculations and submit VAT, Payroll, and other tax returns were appropriate.
- Maintain the e-filing profile as supported by an external party.
- Mentor and coach staff within the department.
- Handle leave planning and performance management.
- Manage SOPs and put in necessary SOPs.
- KPI management.
