The ideal candidate will be responsible for the financial planning function for the Bank. They will assist in the collation of Bidvest Financial Services divisional inputs relating to all financial planning reporting cycles for submission to Bidvest Group. Develop, implement, and maintain financial planning tools and models in support of the financial planning process.
They will also partner with Business to provide insight / analysis into the forward-looking strategies of the Bank. Work closely with key decision makers, provide support and analysis that will influence commercial and investment decisions to shape the future of the business.
- Ensure IFRS are adhered to the budget and revised forecast cycles.
- Ensure business unit input is accurate, complete and reasonable by performing detailed income statement and balance sheet analysis including product balance sheet.
- Ensure financial planning processes support all stakeholder requirements.
- Continuously enhance processes as the financial planning function evolves.
- Continuously engage with IT to assist with any process in financial planning identified for automation / enhancement.
- Assist with the Budgeting section in implementing new Planning and Reporting Tools
- B Com. Degree in Financial Accounting or related Finance Degree
- 5 years' experience in finance.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Banking processes, systems, interfaces, and products.
- 5 years' experience in budgeting and planning within a Financial Services industry.
FINANCE
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Understand the Banks operations, systems, products, and customer diversification.
- Understand and interpret the Bank and BFS strategy and drive the strategy into the financial planning cycles.
- Source data from the various reporting systems in the Bank and translate into useful MI and trend analysis to support business decisions.
- Maintain and update Financial Planning Master data mapping.
- Automate defined parameters to assist Financial Business Partners and create efficiencies in the Financial Planning process.
Business story/ Business performance
- Develop business intelligent reporting to support business growth and focus.
- Provide strategic support to all Bank business units in delivering on their outputs impacting on all financial planning cycles.
- Communicate and manage all financial planning and Reporting timelines and deliverables from all business units.
- Analyse and understand each business units' unique requirements to best solve for their needs.
- Continuously engage with all stakeholders to ensure all requirements are clear and achievable.
- Ensure correct stakeholders have access to their relevant information.
- Manage CFO and Exco expectations on Financial planning outputs.
Policies and procedures
- Compile all training material relevant for each financial planning reporting cycle.
- Assist and train on any new financial planning process or requirements.
- Assist Management with the end-to-end processes in the financial planning cycles.
- Ensure financial planning processes supports all stakeholder requirements.
- Implementation of controls to mitigate process weaknesses.
- Continuously enhance processes as the financial planning function evolves.
- Ensure all financial planning mappings (CC & GL) support a correct view on all financial planning reporting for Bank and for each business unit.
- Maintain the data integrity of financial planning's data model.
- Continuously improving on the data quality included in financial planning's data model.
- Implement the Budget and revised forecast planning cycles in Solver to provide timely and relevant information specific to each business unit and for the Bank as a whole.
- Continuously engage with IT to assist with any process in financial planning identified for automation / enhancement.
- Drive or participate meaningfully in reporting projects (automation and proof of concepts). Key is to be an active participant in cross-functional projects that have a pervasive impact.
