About the team:

The Finance department within Circana has many responsibilities, ranging from ensuring we pay our suppliers, to working collaboratively with our commercial teams on new and existing contracts. The team help our commercial departments know if they are on track to hit the financial targets, but also ensure transparency by communicating regularly to the wide business our overall performance. From a Global perspective the Finance is responsible for reporting results to Global as well as tracking these results against submitted budgets and forecasts.

Your Responsibilities

Bank and Cash

Reviewing of month-end reconciliations over bank, petty cash, credit card and fleet

Performing weekly cash flow forecast for uploading into Group Reporting system

Manage receipts and expenditure for optimal cash flow

Intercompany

Reviewing of intercompany transactions captured by the accountant

Completing intercompany reconciliations and uploading balances into Group reporting system

Manage intercompany receivables/payables

Manage Excon requirements with banking partners

Revenue

Overseeing the revenue process and partner with Commercial teams to drive performance

Monitoring revenue performance to identify risk of shortfall to budget or forecast and communicate to commercial teams

Key focus on monitoring of revenue and accounts receivable to ensure revenue recognition principles are maintained and debtors days are kept to a minimum and within targets set

Ensure all revenue and debtor processing within NetSuite and STAR is accurate, complete and done timeously

Closely involved in process establishment, review and control to maximise revenue efficiencies within the South African Business

Partner with Commercial teams to successfully implement new CRM into the South African Business

Month-end including Reporting

Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations

Preparing upload sheets for balance sheet accounts into Group reporting system

Complete meaningful monthly reporting with variance analysis (MTD, QTD, YTD) to budgets, forecasts and prior years

Ensure all VAT and WHT submissions are compiled in line with legislation and manage all correspondence with SARS.

Complete all Group Reporting requirements as needed by International and US Finance Teams

General

Assist the Finance Manager with monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting cycles and assist in the preparation of various monthly financial statements.

Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring all financial policies and processes remain up to date and adequately documented in IRI Internal Audit Policy IQ.

Assist Finance Manager and Finance Director with revenue forecasting and budgeting.

Assist Finance Manager with finance training for finance team members and broader business training of finance concepts.

Ensuring compliance with taxation laws as per SARS as well as performing of tax calculations

Assisting with ad-hoc requests

Collaborate with external auditors

Skills And Experience Required

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or similar Accounting Degree

SAIPA articles/CIMA- would be advantageous

3+ years experience in financial accounting

Knowledge of South African tax legislation, understanding of financial controls

Experience with financial reporting software (Netsuite) would be advantageous

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced computer literacy skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to meet deadlines

Self-motivating and collaborative attitude
