Financial Accountant

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. What you'll do:

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team with various financial operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, supporting audits, assisting in tax preparation, maintaining accurate financial records, participating in budgeting and forecasting activities, and implementing financial controls and procedures. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation and information.
  • Assist in tax preparation, including the calculation of tax liabilities and filing of returns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in compliance with company policies.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and procedures.

What you bring:

The ideal Financial Accountant candidate brings a (CA (SA) qualification or is working towards completion. You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field along with 0-2 years of relevant experience. Your knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, financial reporting coupled with your experience with accounting software makes you stand out. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are highly valued. Your strong communication skills will aid you in this role. A high level of integrity and professionalism is expected.
  • CA (SA) or working towards completion.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or finance.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, tax laws, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
