2 Stage Interview process. This position has an as-soon-as possible start date!
The Financial Accountant will provide support with Support Office creditors and debtors, rent & general administrative support within the finance team. The position is with a fast-growing team in the retail industry!
Duties & responsibilities will include:
- Preparing reconciliations between cash and card sales and bank receipts per store
- Full responsibility for rental which will include: Working closely with the Property team and landlords; Compiling the turnover rent schedule & submitting the information to the landlords and capturing in the accounting software
- Accounting for refundable deposits and guarantees
- Invoicing and performing reconciliations for all Support Office debtors; send out monthly statements and follow up on payments
- Performing reconciling checks between the GL and the Property Lease schedule
- Assisting with year-end financial audits
- Diploma in Accounting or similar
- 2 years experience in financial accounting role within retail industry (ideally)
- Strong proficiency with MS Office & Excel, with experience with VLOOKUPs & Pivot tables
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) & able to liaise easily with employees, landlords & suppliers
- Able to adapt to changing environments & learn new skills
- Strong problem solver who can use own initiative & enjoys identifying possible solutions quickly
