Financial Accountant

We are seeking a strategic and seasoned financial specialist to join our team as a Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant will support the Financial Manager (FM) with the effective functioning of the finance function within Bash. This encompasses support in relation to the commercial, financial management and value-adding activities undertaken and would typically include the preparation and extraction of supporting information or inputs to analysis.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.
  • Prepare monthly management reports for review by the Financial Manager
  • Support the finance team in analysing management reports and financial performance against its specific targets
  • Analyse standard monthly management reports received from the CoE and SSC, and provide interpretation for review
  • Support with year-end procedures and reports
  • Ensure the planning tool accurately reflects actuals and projections for all costs
  • Ensure timeous delivery of budgets and projections
  • Ensure charge backs received are accurate and accepted
  • Populate journal templates and supporting documentation to submit to the Record to Report function within Shared Services (including but not limited to prepayments, accruals, year-end journals, intercompany entries, month end recharges)
  • Ensure all reconciliations (prepayments, accruals, payroll, receivables and payables) are up to date and accurate on a monthly basis
  • Ensure that the inputs to and the management of any assets are provided to the SSC
  • Perform sundry cost centre management activities
  • Prepare ad-hoc or tailored financial reports required
  • Perform business unit specific finance activities, or ad hoc finance activities requiring contact or physical interface with colleagues in the divisions
  • Support the Finance and Systems Management CoE on new systems or projects requirement gathering, testing and deployment
  • Communicate the internal timeline to all relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct detailed review and investigation of variance analysis schedules and preparations of summary review documents to be used for the monthly Management review
  • Provide financial input to presentations for use at management, Board and investor meetings
  • Support the Financial Manager on any adhoc queries
WHO YOU ARE:

This job is for you if you have:
  • Can take direction well and open to learning
  • B.Com Degree in Financial/ Management Accounting or equivalent
  • 3+ post qualification experience in medium to large corporate
  • CA (SA) or equivalent degree
  • Solid experience in reporting and compliance
  • Thorough knowledge of financial accounting procedures and principles
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Agile, flexible
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
