Responsibilities
- To ensure the Financial Accountant function is managed efficiently by:
- Supporting the Finance Department through the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data.
- Verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documentation.
- Sifting through large amounts of information to quickly determine relevant facts and figures for decision making.
- Build and maintain sound business relationship with:
- Fellow Finance Team (Credit Control, Accounting and Finance Manager)
- Other departments and senior management; and
- 3rd Parties (SARS, auditors, consultants).
- Assist with year-end statutory audit.
- Adhere to month-end timetable accounting deadlines;
- Take ownership of the following accounting functions:
- Trade promotion which involves full GTN (gross to net) process, releasing accruals and rebates
- Rebates (in line with customer trading terms)
- Internal orders on SAP
- VAT monthly submission and maintenance
- Monthly Inter-company COGNOS reporting.
- Revaluation of foreign bank accounts
- Preparation of monthly trade promotion, markdown and rebates in Accounts Receivable reports.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation for destructions and donations.
- Compiling valid, complete and accurate balance sheet reconciliations:
- Present balance sheet reconciliations to Head of Corporate Finance; and
- Follow up on reconciling items.
- Manage Prepayments & Display COGS
- Monthly preparation of recurring journals setup and release
- Managing price changes on SAP for NPDs (New product development)
- Maintain SA Reserve Bank Relationship which includes preparing applications and import undertakings
- Supporting with maintaining internal control - LICS (including Retail LICS)
- Assist with SARS Audits - VAT, Tax, Customs, EMP
- Assist with annual external audit preparations
- Assist with annual financial statement preparations
- Assist the Head of Corporate Finance in forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting process and any other ad-hoc requests in line with business requirements

- Advanced MS Excel skills, SAP experience considered to be a distinctive advantage.
- B.Com Degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
- A minimum of three years working experience in Financial Accounting, preferably in a multinational FMCG environment.
