What will you do?

This role will be responsible for sourcing, analysing and transforming a wide range of data across the business into reports and scorecards that can be used by end users to develop business insights.

We are looking for an individual with experience in using a variety of data tools, analysis methods and data visualization to turn data into actionable insights with demonstrable business impact.

The person fulfilling this role will not only analyse data, but should also be able to effectively communicate business information and insights to the management teams, as well as be competent in communicating challenges and solutions to the team.

An understanding of data management solutions and a keen sense of the strategic value of information to an organisation will be of importance.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end tasks within the data analysis framework working with business representatives, product owners, etc. to define and elicit requirements, analyse data and create reports and dashboards.

The key performance areas of this role include the following:

Data Preparation
  • Acquire data from various data sources and combine & transform data into interpretable datasets, reports or dashboards.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Process, cleanse and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
Analysis and Visualisation
  • Interpret data, analyse results using analytical techniques and provide reports and dashboards.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Use data to answer key questions about the business.
  • Own and maintain dashboards, provide ongoing reporting and handle ad hoc requests from the organization.
Continued key performance areas of this role include the following:

Sales Specific Work
  • Interrogation of various data sources (e.g MIS, Sanpay, SAP etc).
  • Ability to bring different sources of data together and overlap information to require insights.
  • Triangulating data into meaningful trends.
  • Translating data to sales teams in a meaningful way by using graphs and visualisation.
  • Determine whether further data interrogation is required (i.e. question own conclusions).
  • Making recommendations to sales teams, based on information at hand.
  • Answer business questions through insight into historic data patterns and behaviour.
  • Develop and populate predictive models and forecasts based on historical trends.
  • Ability to translate data and convey the message in a story telling way.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work directly with sales teams, management and other business specialists to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.
  • Present information using data visualisation techniques.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyse information needs, functional requirements and understand business processes.
What will make you successful in this role?

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Business Commerce/Accounting/Statistics/Data analytics.
Experience
  • 2-4 years experience in a similar capacity.
  • Functional experience in data analytics, data visualisation or reporting.
  • Experience working with data from various data sources and databases.
  • Business experience in financial services would be advantageous.
Knowledge
  • In depth knowledge of MS Office (Excell, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Knowledge of reporting packages
  • Knowledge of report writing and presenting findings for stakeholder use.
  • Knowledge of data profiling, data quality and reference data toolsets will be advantageous.
