To support our continued growth Mahlatini Luxury Travel is searching for a Finance Assistant to join our team in Cape Town.
This is a hands-on role in a growing company which will give the appointee the opportunity to develop their skills and contribute to the successful financial management of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check Trust bank accounts daily and update finance systems with any client and supplier payments
- Check Business accounts daily and post receipts and payments on Sage& Xero
- Reconcile supplier payments to systems
- Check TAPS system weekly and update finance systems as necessary
- Maintain purchase ledger
- Assist Travel Experts with finance systems queries
- Assist with monthly reconciliations and month end procedures
- Assist with monthly payment run to suppliers
- Send weekly supplier/client payment reports to Trust
- Assist with VAT returns
- Assist in the smooth operation of Cape Town office
- Produce weekly debtor payment reminders
- General Finance and Accounting duties
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
Matric Certificate with at least a 50 % pass in English. Certificate or Diploma in Finance, Accounting or Bookkeeping.
Experience of using Microsoft Excel to manipulate data and produce reports.
A high standard of IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office, information systems or similar databases.
Competent written communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience of using Sage 50, Xero & Dropbox
