KONE South Africa is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Financial Controller to be based in our Johannesburg, South Africa office. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in business partnering with the South African business line leadership as well as front line business operations, providing insight & analytics to help make vital business decisions to help KONE South Africa deliver on its goals and priorities. This role is considered the subject matter expert in the area of financial controlling and will have the opportunity to act as a key advisor to both finance and business colleagues across South Africa as well as ensuring adherence to KONE policies, oversight of annual planning & budgeting processes, monthly forecasting assumptions, and accuracy of actual monthly reporting.

What you will do?
- You will ensure that the legal entity financial reporting is prepared on a timely manner in accordance with both KONE Accounting Standards and statutory requirements;
- Oversee the defined tasks in the month-end closing process executed by finance operations partner(s), KONE Business Services and the finance Global Process Owners (GPOs) are performed;
- Collaborate with the finance operations partner(s), KONE Business Services (KBS) and finance GPOs on close activities, providing local business insight and supporting evidence on account movements;
- Review and approve key reconciliations journal entries and the bridge between KONE Reporting (IFRS) and statutory reporting;
- Ensure that proper balance sheet reconciliation is prepared for the legal entity in accordance with the KONE balance sheet reconciliation policy;
- Manage the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of both legal entity and business line/unit results and forecasts in KONE consolidation system (CPM Beacon) in collaboration with business controllers;
- Organize and run periodic financial performance and balance sheet reviews with Finance Director, Business Controllers, KONE Business Services and finance operations partner(s);
- Ensure that statutory and tax reporting are filed in accordance with both, the local legislation and globally agreed timelines;
- Manage audit process ensuring that both group as well as statutory audit is conducted in accordance with globally defined scheduled and scope
- Continuous follow-up of local legislation and understanding of potential impacts to our business and financial reporting. There should be proactive communication of these on to both, local and global stakeholders;
- Collaborate actively with finance GPOs, KONE Business Services and finance operations partner(s) to resolve process issues or exceptions. Ensure that KONE global finance processes and improvement initiatives are implemented in unit in line with global policies and process blueprints;
- At month-end, review and summarize legal entity financial result and performance and balance sheet in cooperation with business controllers to validate completeness and accuracy of both financial and management reporting and forecasting.
- Bachelors in Finance and CIMA Level Certification will be advantageous;
- Minimum 4 years' experience in the following: Financial Analyses, Financial Planning, Business Plan Implementation;
- Responsible for a strategic company with strong focus on business partnering and advising the leadership team;
- Experience in Matrix Organizations;
- Excellent understanding of various CRM tools including SAP;
- Highly motivated, goal oriented, diligent, organized self-starter with an orientation towards a high level of customer service;
- Strong English Communication skills the financial controller will often have to interact with various stakeholders and so the ability to communicate complex data, and to write and speak clearly, are important;
- Attention to detail You need to be an individual who is precise in their work, able to spot errors, and vigilant to ensure that any problems are corrected for accurate results;
